In 1976, my father beat up one of my older brothers for kicking me out of their room. He cried out loudly and my mother told him that it served him right and never do that at ever again. My brother got even afterwards with me and slapped and beat me where I got a couple of black and blue marks on me including a black eye. When my school called my mother to inform her about the visible injuries on me she came and asked me about them I told her. She was shocked and when my dad found out about it later, he grabbed my brother by the ear, took him out in the back yard, threw him on the ground, took his belt off and whooped him real hard. My father motioned me to come out to where I saw my brother all bloodied up with welts all over his back. Crying and sobbing he was forced to apologize to me for beating me up. My dad gave him a choice to either apologize personally and formally to me or be sent to a military academy to finish off middle school and high school starting in the Fall. He chose to apologize. He never laid a finger on me until after my folks divorced and things changed.
