In 2006, I took my middle school students on a field trip, and took several pictures of them. Then, the next day, I used my laptop to show some students the pictures, and suggested that they email the ones they like to themselves. They did, and thought I was just being a nice guy.
In fact, I was recording their email addresses and passwords with a keylogger.
Over the next five years, I quietly checked their email, seeing what they were sending or receiving from their boyfriends and girlfriends. This was before SnapChat or two-step email verification. One girl kept the same password all the way through her sophomore year of college. She was a cheerleader all through high school and college, and her various boyfriends along the way were very fortunate guys indeed, judging from the videos she sent them.
