Not sure I understand the meaning of forgiveness?

I am an a******, I have done some really bad s*** in my life but never had a desire to recieve forgiveness put on me? It’s one of those meaningless things. I think. Maybe it’s religious? I am not religious.

I thought it was a fair trade. Saturday night after taking the kids out for Halloween. We went to a bonfire. Old friend from high school was there. We both got a treat. We were in this barn loft doing the deed. While doing it. He asked if I would clean his cream pie nozzle off afterwards. I replied sure clean my pie pan first. And I’ll return the favor.
