My mom used to be on all sorts of painkillers growing up and she spent 3 whole years in bed doped up when I was a teenager. After that she detoxed herself off of all of her pain medications by herself. It was hell but she’s a recovering alcoholic so it’s not like she hasn’t detoxed before. The doctors said she was insane. They put her on methadone, a non addictive muscle relaxer, and thats it! She doesnt take anything else for her pain! Shes in more pain than she used to be, but she can actually function. It’s a shame what doctors do. Women have naturally lower pain tolerance than men do and most doctors are males, and pain is subjective, soooo many women are overmedicated just because the doctor’s don’t know what else to do, plus they get paid to push those pills.
