Another thing I remember about childhood , my mother would heat up tomato soup in a soup pan on the stove , filling up the thermos before school. Campbells soup . and I remember loving the warmth against my hands as I would lift it out of my metal lunchbox . I never forgot it. My family wasn’t rich , sometimes generic cream of wheat was truly cream of wheat . farina ? Was for the rich kids . and that was a real fact of life during the 70’s.
