I love him but I want to leave my abusive/narcissistic bf (or rather have him leave me), because the only time he’s happy is when I’m doing all of the work (ft job and chores while he doesn’t work) but he’s completely reliant on me for everything, and wouldn’t have a place to go. I’ve been trying to forgive him for putting hands on me and rebuild my trust for him, but he just really can’t seem to be nice to anybody, especially if they don’t bring him some sort of benefit or material item. He’s embarrassing in grocery stores, constantly disrespecting people (especially elders), walking around angrily for no reason, running out of the store threatening to kill himself, and throwing tantrums if I say no to buying something and remind him of the budget. He’s 10 years older than me. Every time he mentions making friends I get excited but then he goes on about, “so we can get this and this and this from this person,” and it leaves me feeling sick. I generally like individuals, and it makes me question why he even got with me in the first place. If I didn’t give him everything, would he even be with me? Can he actually love people or can he only love material things now because of how he’s been hurt? It seems like his love is very conditional, based on how often you say yes to whatever he wants. My only condition is you try, and I’ll be happy.
