Me: Culture thing. They treated you like they were treated when they were kids and grew up and were married off. They did not know any better, but the internet made you see how other cultures did things differently and you wanted to be like Western women, but you could not be, because in their eyes it was about culture and family and public disgrace and what they would have done to you, if you did not obey them and their choices for you.
Husband older than you. Much older than you? It was his genetics which combined with yours caused your kid, but you get blamed for and have to bring it up, not a nice way to be.
Don’t be like your parents, choose your own path, as much as you are able and place responsibility with what happened to you squarely where it belongs – correctly with mum and dad.
I hated my parents too and I refused to carry on my fathers line and I paid back, whenever I could, while they were alive and even now while they are dead I guess.
I understand how you feel, you have my sympathy and I have your back.
