This guy is a total f*****, I honestly wish he gets raped by a strap-on wearing feminist!

**For context, this happened at the beggining of february, before the COVID-19 got to my country. Also, sorry if my english seems a little confusing, I’ll try my best to explain what happened.**

I was sitting in a restaurant eating lunch with my parents, when one of the waiters came in and asked if the Toyota that was parked in front across the street was ours (it was) and that there was a tow truck from the city about to take it away for being parked incorrectly. So I go outside, and after some explaining with the authorities, I was able to talk them out of fining me and taking away my car.

The restaurant was in the corner of a four-way intersection, and I stupidly parked my car on the front of the sidewalk (not on it, there was a little space that seemed harmless to park on that was where the sidewalk is, I don’t know how else to explain this). So I hopped in and started reversing slowly onto the street, and I looked both ways to see if there were any cars coming. When I saw it was safe, I started to back out more, and just when the back wheels had touched the literal street, I hear a crash-like sound and a car honk. I had just hit some guy’s sedan with my car, and I inmediately stopped reversing and left it parked where it was before, just so nothing would happen to it.

Me and the guy come out of our cars, I ask if he’s okay and if he’s hurt since it sounded like a pretty big bang, and after that he parked his car somewhere else (as I mentioned we were in a four-way intersection, so we were at the traffic lights when it happened) so that we could see what damage I had done to his car and exchange our info. It turned out that it was only the plastic that was covering the lightbulb that had been damaged, or so it seemed at first glance. So I gave him my number so later he could send me the costs for the damage, and it all seemed normal, he was pretty calm during this whole thing, but then he told me that (as in, he “warned” me) that he would not accept any sort of alternative parts that weren’t from the original maker (if I recall correctly it was a Honda), as if to say that I was obligated to give him an original part for his car. But I just brushed it off as nothing major and then we both went on our ways, I paid the bill for the lunch and I went home with my parents.

Then about 3 days later, I’m at home when I get a text from the guy with a photo of the quotation attached. It was for an original taillight that was extremely pricey and expensive since most original car parts are, so I asked him calmly how was it possible that he was charging me this much for a simple taillight, because while I am very much not a car expert, it’s not hard to know how much taillights cost and when you’re getting scammed or not. Plus at the time I was still trying to pay other bills so I couldn’t exactly afford to pay such a large amount. Then, inmediately after that, he flips out and tells me that if i’m not willing to pay for that, then he’s gonna go to the police to report the incident (which btw you can but the police won’t actually file it since it’s not in their power to act on minor car crashes, even less ones that happened almost 3 days ago) then file a lawsuit against me. I asked him why would he want to do that when the solution was much simpler as him not being a complete a** (didn’t say this but it’s a semi-quote) and looking for a cheaper but still good and reliable alternative from another distributer. After some arguing and going back and forth, with it being mostly just me trying to make him realize that an alternative was just as good and reliable, we finally settled that I would go out of my way and actually look for the taillight myself, expressing that I was gonna look for an alternative in some other car workshops, and then send him the quote for that one in about two more days, to which he agreed.

The two days come around and I go around town to look for the tailight, I do all the correct consultation so I buy the one he actually needs (checked with the VIN of the car so it was compatible, looked at reviews online, etc.) I find a good one and send him the quotation with a photo of the product so he can see what he’s getting. He asks me if this was an original part, and I tell him that it’s an alternative, but that I checked everything and that it’s just as good, and then he again goes on a rampant about how he’s gonna call the cops and all that crap, and here we went again about it. I don’t blame him though, he did tell me that he had been scammed before when he had a similar accident so I understood his frustration and him wanting only original parts, but this was just a taillight. It wasn’t an essential motor part, and I hadn’t even scratched or made any other major damage to his car for him to treat the situation like this. If it had been a more serious accident then I wouldn’t have even questioned paying whatever price he needed, but, again, this was just a taillight, nothing else, which means any one would’ve served, and I know this since both of my headlights are alternatives which have worked with no problem whatsoever, only having to change the bulb of one some time ago, but that was it, so even if it was little, I had some experience with these and wasn’t just talking out of my a** like most people do in these cases.

Anyway, by this point I had been very diligent with all of his demands, answering all his texts and phonecalls respectfully and even looking myself for the part, something no one would ever do, but he clearly wouldn’t let it go that he wanted the original part. Then get this; While I had my phone put away when I went to grab some coffee, *his wife called me.* I answered and she tells me she’s the guy’s wife, and that she was the actual owner of the car I had smashed almost a week ago, but they just shared the car so he could go to work and drive her to places (I’m only assuming this last part but it’s probably how it was).

She essentially asks me why am I still stalling with this thing and hadn’t settled with what they wanted, which was clearly trying to take advantage of the situation to get more money for this, so I then calmly explained that what she was trying to do was unreasonable because, again, this was just a taillight, and that the alternative I had proposed was a good option and that if she wished to she could change it later on, instead of driving around with a broken light and possibly getting a fine from the cops. She tells me that I was trying to “get the easy way out” (clearly not since i’m still here, talking to you and haven’t ghosted you which would’ve solved all of my problems) and that this would reduce the market value of her car (I still don’t understand this one). We went on and on about this, with me even offering more money to compensate for the time lost and the stress of this situation (specifically, paying “double” which was the price of the part but times 2) until she had the nerve to call me a p**** and tell me I wasn’t being “man enough” for trying to literally pay for her damages. I pretty much had it at that point and told her to go bother someone else with this s*** and that if she wanted she could reconsider the offer I had made her and call me later, but she just said she would go to the police station to file for the “crime”, and right after that I just blocked his husband and her so I wouldn’t get more s*** from them. And that was the end of that. It’s been 2 months and I have not heard a single word from them, not have I gotten any citation for anything, and I’ve just continued with my life.
