Unless you are the bride, groom, or closely related(parent, child, grandparent, sibling, or really close friend, generally), weddings are the most boring torture you can go through.
Exception: somebody shows up smashed and makes an embarrassing speech, an ex shows up to declare undying love, somebody gets their a** beat and/or arrested. As long as everything goes as planned, going to a wedding of a relative you see maybe once a year is mind numbing.
This is especially true if you’re a kid, who’s been duped into going with those three magical words, there’ll be cake, only to find out you need to listen to a guy drone on about love for two hours first.
