I’m in love with my best friend who is also a girl but I cant get the courage to tell her because im scared. She doesnt know im lesbian and thinks im just too shy to get a boyfriend but really i only like girls. Im worried if i tell her im lesbian and i love her that if she doesnt want to be with me she might not want to even be my best friend any more but i really want her to be my girlfriend and its breaking my heart not being able to tell her.

I think it would be quite overwhelming for her to be told both at the same time and if she’s straight there is no chance for you- I’ve also had crushes on straight best friends but in the end it was better not telling them because I got over it and got to retain the friendship! But if you think you can trust her, come out to her and see how she takes that. Maybe she’ll reveal she’s gay/bi too! Or she’ll be straight but hopefully really accepting. Good luck, but try not to get hung up on her. It’s better to try find girls you know for sure aren’t straight to have a crush on than becoming devoted to someone who will never like you or isn’t confident enough in their sexuality yet to return your feelings.
