(corrected) I call someone my husband but we actually never had a wedding. The man I claim is my husband gave someone some food items when he came to see me in his house, and that meeting is what I claim to be the marriage. I claim his gifts to be the man’s “payment of my dowry”. Also, that person he gave the items to is not a relative, just someone who came to see me. I have called this man my husband even before this event I’m claiming to be the marriage.
