If you’re scared he’ll leave you, it means you don’t trust him. Which means you should leave him for his own good.

You clearly don’t trust him. Maybe you have trust issues in general, you’re scared he’ll leave you so it might be an insecure attachment style, or something in your past that makes it hard to trust guys. “I always thought he didn’t love me as much” have you talked to him about that? Or just magicked it out of thin air. If you’re scared he’ll leave you, well imagine you tell him and he does leave. He leaves because you told the truth (facing something directly), he shows you he isn’t worth you. So in all cases it works best to tell him now.
