In fact, the Floyd Rose Double Locking Trem system is such a cool mechanism, I’d like to buy another story me JUST TO HAVE IT.

The FR Original is damn expensive. The German made one with the hardened steel. Like 8 different finishes, Chrome, Satin Chrome, Nickel, Black Nickel, Gold, Rose Gold. The least expensive Chrome would be just over $300 CAD and by the time it ships, it’s over $400. Gold is really expensive. $460 CAD before shipping, taxes, and import costs when it gets here. Insane.

The FR Special looks to be about 1/3 the price and comes in almost as many cool finishes. Chrome is $125. I don’t think the Gold breaks $200 price mark.

It would be cool to build a basic, single pickup, Floyd Rose equipped Stratocaster style guitar.
