Started a business with someone close. We talked all the time about what we could do with it and how far we would go and the worries of finances and money would just ease away. But as of recent, my business partner has been labeling ‘our’ business as strictly ‘my’ business. They seem to have pulled away from it. This morning, they expressed a creative difference in product- something WAY out of the shop theme and original product line-up. At this point in time I have done everything for this business, put money into, already have product bought and made and still am furthering what is needed for it to sail on. I suggested, rather calmly and a bit timidly that maybe they should just start their own business. They said it would still fit the theme of the prearranged business but backtracked with a shrug and, “Maybe I should start my own.” Not sure why, but it bothers we a lot. We built this thing, we brainstormed, tried out product to see if this was something we could commit to and it’s like now I’m doing it all on my own, carry all of the weight on my own. It’s like the excitement turned stale and the giddiness of having our own little shop is just a distant memory. I had a feeling, I knew I did. I told myself that something was up.
