thoughts in a bathtub

-skewed perception

as a psychology graduate, reading people is a blessing and a curse. you can tell the liars from the truthtellers and you can tell the sane from the insane. but you sort of know from the get go whether it shows or not.

like this annoying thing when people have this phenomena of “skewed perception.” it’s this thing when people say or do something with the intention that the other, others or audience will understand it as they do. or if they see someone doing something or saying something, they perceived it as they did.

an example from the first one could be someone says something catty to me with the expectation i’ll be hurt because that was the intention and the tone of the statement. the skewed perception is maybe i never registered it as that at all and went over mt head. your intention of hurting me actually didn’t work because i was too busy thinking about… that’s right, crisps. ohhhh bless you. SPB. skewed perception blunders

the second one could be if i google an ex. someone borrows my device to check their mails real quickly and see my history as googling this said person and thinks s*** – she still loves him. what if i told u in that very moment my device restarted itself, i clicked on my browser and the url that appeared as i was typing for something else super fast suddenly registered as that url of said person. SKB. skewed perception blunders.

you see, simpletons, the brain is a complex organism with multiple machinations at play constructing our everyday reality. what we want others to see or hear or emote or what we believe others to see or hear or emote is never really correct – good or bad.

the only way to truly know is yes, that’s right, timeless advice: ask and communicate.

otherwise, you’ll be living in a world in your head the masses have no clue to.

yes, right now, i’m thinking about… why are my hands so small? what a thought eh?
