I really think white people who adopt black kids are subconsciously the most racist people on the planet. So much talk of cultural apropriation nowadays- how is raising a child outside of/ away from it’s own race not the worst form of taking something that doesn’t belong to you? We act like the human race is one big happy family, but really we’re very tribal (and we’ve suddenly convinced ourselves that it’s evil, but really it’s quite natural). You never see wealthy black people adopting white kids (or black kids, for that matter), but whites think it makes them a colorblind, benevolent saint to have a black kid. Angelina Jolie wanted to adopt a kid from every continent! That’s literally someone collecting children like they’re objects and it’s fucked! Can everyone just quit breeding so rich people can stop stroking their own egos by flaunting their chamber of choice rainbow pickaninnies to the world?
