There was this girl in high school who I wanted to have a relationship with to the point that I thought I was in love with her. My stupid teenage brain apparently confused the idea of her being easy with something much deeper. Luckily nothing happened because it would have really fucked up my life as she’s pretty messed up. I still managed to f*** up my life with drama that involved her and I’m still feeling the after effects years later. I haven’t seen her in several years which has been for the best. I got over any feelings I might have had for her years ago but am worried what I’d do if I encountered her today. I’m trying to be a better less angry person, but over the years I’ve written a script in my head of how I’d destroy her if I ran into her out on the street. This would involve telling her she’s always been white trash, that she was never remotely worth what I put myself through now or back then, mocking her alcoholism and DUIs, and telling her she’ll probably end up killing herself before she’s 40. I feel all of these things are true and would like to even up the score and hurt her as bad as she’s hurt me. I know the healthiest thing is just to let it go and try to be an adult, but some part of me is still keeping score and wants to lash out. It feels really unfair to just ignore her if she shows up out of the blue and starts talking s***, even if everything I’ve heard about her in recent years proves that she’s just a severely messed up girl who doesn’t need someone rubbing it in. I’ll almost certainly not ever say any of these things to her, but I needed to get these feelings off my chest.
