When I was at a small Halloween party, I was chatting with a long time friend named Brian. Among the random things going on (music, talk, hyperactive candy eaters, face painting, ect), some group was watching old episodes of Dexter. Randomly, during a lull, they turned up the volume just as someone on the show said “Brian” loudly. My friend startled, yelled “What?” and looked around for the person who called his name. I couldn’t stop giggling, and then felt really embarrassed when people stared at me, not having noticed what happened.
