I’m 29, almost 30, and I finally admitted to myself last year that I’m transgender. Ever since puberty started twenty years ago I’ve felt wrong, depressed, and awful about myself. For the next twenty years of struggle, of substance abuse, suicide attempts, self harm, and absolute pain I finally realized and accepted that I’m the wrong gender and was born with the wrong body. So, I got on hormones after a lot of soul searching and it was the most amazing thing. I finally felt “correct” like my brain found the one thing that was missing at long last. Fast forward a year and it turns out that the hormones I’m taking are also slowly killing me because my body is sensitive to most of the types that I’ve tried, and now my doctor doesn’t want to prescribe me more.

I have a lot of my hormones left over, enough for quite a few months, and there are plenty of DIY methods, but the problem is that it might kill me. Thing is… I also don’t really care if it does, because for the first time in my life since I was a small child I can actually feel things again; I can feel joy, happiness, self love, and my world is so much brighter than it ever has been. If I can’t get more hormones or find alternatives that are safe for me then I fully intend to continue taking what I can until it kills me, because with the amount that I have I will expire before I run out. I would rather die happy then live longer with the misery I have already endured.

Sister Marie Howorth had no right to ask me private questions about father’s death. The Toronto Catholic District School Board has verified this with me. To quote the TCDSB, “If you did not disclose to her that your father died, she should not have asked.” The TCDSB also verified that Sister Marie Howorth should not have asked me ‘prodding’ questions. Especially when she saw I was in distress. At that point, she should have stopped. As for the comment, “You wear a mask”, this was a very harmful comment to say to a student. In today’s climate, making a comment like that to a student would never fly. I feel emotionally abused by Sister Marie Howorth. I’m sick of people glorifying her and talking about how compassionate she was. I simply did not see that side of her. When I asked what the meeting was about that day, Sister Marie Howorth replied, “Oh Just Something.” This answer was an outright lie. Sister Marie asking me to reveal private details about my father’s death was not “just something.” I still feel very violated by the way Sister Marie Howorth treated me. She invaded my privacy and my grief. (Actually I don’t really grieve my father because he called my mother an ugly warthog infront of me when I was 6) I hope God did not let her into Heaven Scott Free! Sister Marie Howorth ruined my last year of high school with her psychological abuse.

F*** You Sister Marie Howorth
F*** You Judy Wright
F*** You Yvonne Kocik
F*** You Former Deputy Director of the MSSB who thought he had a right to force a grief counselling on me when he could have just made a complaint against me to stop. I would never have contacted him in the first f*****’ place! Besides, unlike his late son, I would never steal VCRs from the Honeydale Walmart!!!
