I come from a poor missionary Catholic Church. Parishioners should not be overdressed wearing over priced clothes while usually poor people can not afford. Some parishioners are homeless, one pay check from being homeless or low income. You want to dress nice in cheaper clothes for church. Some peoples clothes look like they are stealing for status in the church.
