I have always had a problem with my posture and chest size. This was because of the girls at my school.
I always had a smaller chest then the rest of the girls at my school. But I formed a sense of body dysmorphia when I reached 7th grade because a few of my friends at the time would make fun of them for being “so big”. Keep in mind,I’m an A cup but these girls thought it would be funny to bully me and make fun of my posture and chest size. So when my parents took me shopping, I would pick out XS sports bras and made sure they were extra tight. It helped with my posture but I thought my b**** were too big. So I thought it would be a good idea to pull up the bra a bit. This led the elastic of the bra to cut the circulation of half of my breasts. This was NOT GOOD. It was like a really tight and painful chest binder. I couldn’t breath and I couldn’t wear half of my clothes because you could see stuff you truly didn’t want to see so I wore baggier clothing to hide everything. Just when I thought my friends would stop making fun of me, they started making fun of me because they were now “too small”
I was doing that trick for two years and I finally stopped because it was not only hurting me, but it was hurting my self-esteem and my relationship with my family because I wasn’t telling them what was truly happening. Everything is okay now and I’m no longer doing what I did but as a reminder, please tell someone when people bully you to do dumb things to yourself. It’s painful and I don’t want anyone else to go through something like that.
