If you (Perry Kalynuk) fire a teacher just before Christmas time, is it a good idea to give the fired teacher’s non-board email to the new teacher taking her place without the fired teacher’s permission? Would it be a better idea to ask for permission first?

Giving out somebody else’s email address is a breech of privacy. Very unethical.

Firing people has consequences. When you fired the teacher, you absolved him/her of all responsibilities for anything that happens after that point in time. If you require further assistance from the fired teacher, you have to come up with a consulting-fee that will make it worth his/her while.

This is probably a good time to hire a labor relations lawyer and find out what kind of mess you made for yourself.
