International student here. Got accepted into one of the colleges in California. Met a girl in 2014. Got real close. There were sparks. Confessed to her, but rejected as she said she’s going for an exchange year. Dejected, but life’s gotta move on. Graduated in 2016. Haven’t heard from her until 2020. She came to my country to teach English. Excited. Planned for domestic travel. COVID happened. All plans canceled. She was instructed to return to the US by the program. F*** this life. Now she invited me to travel once COVID settled. Not sure whether she’s just being nice. Occasionally texted. But am cautious not to confess again. Guess I’m just afraid of getting rejected and loss her again. Better be friends?
