There’s been am uncomfortable soreness in my armpit for about a week now. I gave it a feel tonight and I think there might be a lump there. You know. Could be a sign of breast cancer. I’m worried about consulting anyone about it since I’m a bit of a hypochondriac. Also Ive wracked up medical bills in the past for things that ended up disappearing before they could be diagnosed (symptoms pointing to a blood clot in the leg but pain easing after arrival in the ER and nothing found). I don’t want to waste people’s time and my money on something unless it’s real. Otherwise I’ll just seem like I’m faking for attention.

No I know what you mean. But it could be gravely serious so I’d say definitely get checked out and point out your concerns. Trust me, you don’t want Breast Cancer x
OP here. I’ve consulted with my mother, since she’s more informed on these sort of things than I am and I trust her. She helped convince me that even if it’s nothing, going in and getting it checked for peace of mind is worth it. I’m working on arranging an appointment at my woman’s clinic. I was there last month for my annual exam, but they actually didn’t check the breasts like they usually do (and are supposed to). It just didn’t really dawn on me until now because when I’m at those appointments I’m in a “just get it over with” mindset.
Alright then well good on you for planning an opintment and good on your mum because she is perfectly correct- better be safe than sorry. I know how you feel I get like that, but a check up will fit well. Good luck x
