If you are sitting or standing and you turn your body without moving your feet and hear a click and think what was that, in all probability you have just ruptured a disk in your spine and a sure fire way to find out, is if suddenly you have terrible pain down one side of your body or a leg has gone numb and you can’t walk or move, because of the pain.
I know, I’ve had it happen to me when I was in my late 30’s.
What happens is that as we age, the “jelly” in the disks, in our spine, becomes hard and eventually the disk can rupture and when this happens the hardened disk content comes out of the disk and pushes against the Siatic Nerve inside your spine, pushing the Siatic Nerve out of alignment and that is why you are now having the unbearable pain.
This is a mechanical problem with a mechanical method to fix it – a Laminectomy.
Find and buy or download “How To Be Your Own Back Doctor” and read it through and understand the options available to you, to repair your back and hopefully be pain free, afterwards.
Tell the Neurosurgeon what you want him to do.
Don’t think he will do the obvious, because he won’t and if you don’t explain exactly what you want done, using the above book for reference, then your fate is in his hands and you deserve better for yourself, than that.
I chose the Operation, where the ligaments in my back were moved aside, exposing the spine. a hole was cut out of my spine, where the disk had ruptured and the contents of the ruptured disk were removed with forceps, after which my Siatic Nerve was back in alignment and my spine sealed up and when I awakened afterwards, I was pain free and have been ever since.
There is absolutely no point in your doctor giving you pain medication to overcome the pain from a ruptured disk, which has pushed your Siatic Nerve out of alignment, because it is a bit like cutting off your leg to stop a headache and the pain you have is from a mechanical breakdown and not a psychological one.
Until you have the operation, there will be no peace from pain for you.
