I plant chessnuts in my local forest every year and in spring when I check on them, often maple saplings are growing around my chessnut saplings, so I pull up the maples killing them. They are native to the forest and have an easy time growing here, I work hard to plant the chessnuts so I kill their closely growing competition because I refuse for my hard work to be for nothing. I feel guilty about the irony of killing trees to grow trees, but I need this so whatever. It’s much like immigrants burrowing their way into countries, Muslims or Indians going abroad and bit by bit demanding more rope, more power, more influence, spreading their seed and trashing the neighbourhood and before you know it the natives are dead or their lives are horrible because of the non natives.
