Dear Rabbi Berkal, You may have been a wonderful man but your grandson was a complete and utter a****** to me. I’ll never forget the night he got drunk and singled me out infront of the other teachers and tried to force me to admit that I was a virgin infront of them. As if being a virgin was something to be ashamed of. His friend (whose wife he slept with years later) told me years later that he and the other male teachers had a talk with your grandson. I think they wanted him to apologize to me. But the next day, he wouldn’t apologize. He just pretended that he was too drunk to remember. Manitoba Education agrees that the way your grandson treated me was very wrong. There are now anti-s***** harassment policies in all Manitoba accredited schools abroad because of your grandson’s conduct towards me that night and then after. I don’t know why your grandson mistreated me. All the male teachers that I work with agree that the things he said to me were very demeaning. Why couldn’t he treat me with the same kindness and respect as all the other male teachers that I worked with? He scarred my memories of the Land of the Morning Calm (Corée). I want to move on and I want an apology from him to help me move on. I need an apology from your grandson!
