A few hours after my aunt took my mother to stay withbher for a few days I got a call from my friend Carla. She told me that my aunt had called and asked her mother and she to check in on me. An hour later they were at the door. Carla’s mother was stunned and very upset when she saw the bruises on me, they were at least starting to fade. Carla’s mother was very calming and sat me down and told me that she had some idea of what must have happened but asked me if I could please tell her myself. I managed to finally start saying it all mostly I looked down or at Carla as I explained all of it. When it was all out and said and done Carla’s mother was fairly quiet but visibly intensely angry. She paced for a while thinking while Carla sat consoling me and holding my hand. When I was struggling the worst confessing everything Carla had sat next to me with her arm around my shoulder. And sometimes like her mother asking detailed questions or trying to clarify what I was trying to aviid having to explain. Sometimes Carla would fill in blanks or translate since she knew me fairly well and sometimes she even asked her mother to go easier on me because it was embarassing and I was so ashamed.
