I was manipulated into leaking the nudes of a s** trafficking victim.
In high school I hung with a not-so-good crowd. After graduation one of the people from that crowd (I’ll call her L), moved to a different state to live with a man she met in a Satanic Forum. When word got out of what the man looked like (Dude was in his sixties and looked like Majin Buu from Dragonball Z), a common “friend”, the ringleader we’ll call her D who was very manipulative called me late at night to have a laugh about it.
Later on, D and I found out that the man was taking photos of L and posting them on whichever Social Media website allowed n***** at the time. Memes were made out of them and they went around a bit and there was some slutshaming and victim blaming involved with D egging everybody on.
But something felt off. I did some digging of my own and discovered that the man was wanted in another country for r*** and made several attempts to contact the police and L’s parents about what I found out but they were all for naught.
It’s been a good few years since the incident, I want to say that I have grown as a person but this has crawled on my back for a while. I wish that back then I had the backbone to stand up to people who needed it the most or at the very least the guts to punch D in the face at any given point but more than anything I wish I could take back the s***** thing that I did.
L, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry. And I hope in the forseeable future that you find yourself in a safe situation.
