I feel awful for this but I swear my dad is autistic. He’ll break out and start singing and hitting his stomach as a drum and whistle. And all the while he has a sniffing tick that drives me insane. It goes on constantly. He just barges into my room without knocking and starts sniffing everywhere. He’s even opened my bathroom door while I was using it to literally just show me a chord he learned on the guitar. I know it’s harsh but I hate living here. I need to move out NOW – before I snap

Sometimes there is a possibility a parent can be Autistics have ADHD/ADD, Asperger’s and other disabilities and the child does not receive these through genetics, but rather carry the gene. If I was you, if you have another parent like another mom or dad, I’d gently bring up that their actions are starting to concern and annoy you (just don’t say ‘I think their autistic). See how it goes and if it doesn’t progress anywhere then alert your dad and confront him about this behaviour x

Your dad doesn’t sound remotely autistic. Just because you don’t personally enjoy a behaviour, doesn’t mean it’s due to an illness or syndrome.
