I’ve been in a relationship for about 5 and a half months, and it used to be great. However, my boyfriend has a bad habit of making offensive jokes, and they’ve been getting worse and worse. It used to be just random nonsense, but now it’s escalated to pretending to sympathize with Nazis and insulting entire ethnicity groups. It has been making me increasingly uncomfortable, and I asked him to stop, but nothing changed. Last night was the final straw. My best friend was staying over and my boyfriend was texting her. She showed me the conversation she was having when it took a weird turn. He called her a gay trap, asked her out, tried to set up a t********, and called both her and I sluts. I was heartbroken and disappointed. I’m breaking up with him tomorrow but I still feel guilty even though he is clearly in the wrong. I’m just sad and I don’t know what I’ll do afterwards, but at least my friends support me.
