I hear you. I fell in love with my best friend from childhood and I knew she wouldn’t feel the same for me, since we’re both the same gender. We were accepted to different colleges and met different men to marry— but just before we each tied the knot, I found the courage (at the bottom of a bottle) to admit my feelings for her. She was gracious, but made it clear that life would never go that way. Things feel kind of weird between us now…
