I’ve heard confessing can reduce guilt and cognitive dissonance. So, here I am.

I’m lonely, yet I can’t be bothered to fully commit myself in friendships and relationships. Not with my parents, not with people I’ve known my whole life, not with people clearly interested in me, not with people I’M interested in. I’ve done nice things out of my own volition, but I can never commit to anything deeper despite wanting to. I know that deep down I feel like people owe me something because I’ve been shunned my whole life.

  • Good for you for sharing. Hope it helps! You’re probably not as unusual in that as you think, sounds human to me.
