i’m currently 13 years old and have an account on dA (congrats if you know what site this is). when i first created this account i was 11 years old. while in the process of putting all the info in, i obviously came across the birthdate section. since i was only 11 years old at the time, they didn’t have my actual birth year in there (2004). so, obviously not knowing the whole “current year – birth year = your current/upcoming age” thing, i put in 2002 because i thought it’d be the closet year to mine; and that i could just contact dA and tell them my situation. well, it turned out that you can only change your birth year once and they can’t put in a birth year that they don’t have in their selection. so, for 2 years now, my 61 watchers/followers think i am 16 years old; and so do my 3 online friends. i’m actually going to deactivate my account and create a new one without telling my followers the actual reason why because i know that some people will definitely think that i’m lying; when in the first place, i made a stupid mistake and now i feel like i’m lying to myself and my friends and followers. i’m in the process of telling one my closest friends the truth and my explanation.
it may sound weird, but basically, i’m currently 13 years old and when i created my dA account i put in the wrong birthdate and now my online friends (who are mainly my age or a year or two older) think that i am 16 years old. i feel really guilty about it. so, i’m just gonna deactivate my account and create a new one. and if any one of my followers would like to know my new account i’ll send them the username.

i’m so glad that i could take this weight off of my shoulders.
