Ngl… Getting covid felt like the first time I smoked weed and realized that DARE and “this is your brain on drugs” were fearmongering campaigns. You know what was worse than the incredibly mild symptoms I suffered as a relatively healthy 30-something? The intense anxiety and paranoia fed by a nearly year-long diet of nothing but gloom and doom media. Not downplaying it at all, RIP to the 400K, but damn a sense of perspective would have been great before I got it and ruined my already fragile mental health by torturing myself for the last month.
