I can’t be the only one but, is it me or do all psychopaths, sociopaths, murderers etc. have this certain look in their eyes?… Like I’m not saying a sociopath is the same as a murderer or anything, but all of them have this certain physical feature, a certain aura that gives off red flags and this certain feature deep within their eyes that makes your gut instinct to tell you to run? I have noticed this with a few people (due to experience through my profession). I just wondered if anyone feels the same is all.

    • I don’t usually since I’m not really judgemental, but most of the time my gut is right with a few times having to get the police involved and always hearing ‘it’s lucky you trusted your gut response’ or ‘you done the complete right thing’. The worst time for me was when a guy escaped from a mental hospital and tried to engage with me, trying to come off kind and gentle, but when you spoke to him this atmosphere drastically switched to this dark cloud feeling. I sensed something was wrong and tried to weave my way out of the conversation and made and excuse to leave. After walking away I noticed him hovering around, almost scanning everyone that passed. That’s when he noticed security and a few doctors coming out this large building to which he tried to run but was chased down. He kicked, screamed, threatened, spat, and turned into this raging being.

After police arrived and helped take him to a station I was confronted like many other witnesses and explained my growing fear whilst he approached me. A few others felt this apparently and one local went into the hospital and warned of a guy standing outside giving everyone off glances. I wasn’t from there and had no idea what the building actually was

        • In some ways yes. But the eyes are an inkling into a person soul. Your gut feeling is their for a reason and most times you should trust it.

          • But not all psychopaths and sociopaths will have that look your talking either. That can be something misinterlreted for sociopaths psychopathy, it could be depression, stress, the shape of their face, maybe you pissed them off or they just dont like you.

  • To: They could be walking around with a killer corn on their foot all day? Maybe their left nut is hurting.

Haha yeah I see your point, but when reading someone I can tell pain, emotion, agitation, anger and all that. It’s when their is a lack of emotion displayed to the point where it isn’t depression it’s almost fake to cover something more sinister, or there is a twisted feel. I think having passed with a Psychology A level it helps to pick apart fragments of the mind and personality, and tell between.

You would need to see the action and the workings of the eyes reacting and you might even need to be able to see their pupils and at the same time read the fireworks in the brain while seeing images or whatever hearing a story to know for sure. Serial killers don’t look like serial killers.

I don’t think you can tell from looking at someone, that’s just the way it is. They are born with the genetics that make them look a certain way, that includes eyes, color, shape of the socket, brow. Eyebrows can make a difference in how someone is perceived. Big time.

      • Yeah your right. It is to do with the emotional reaction and the mindset towards certain topics/subjects. Serial killers well I haven’t met a serial killer myself and I’m hoping not to anytime soon, however I wondered if they were the same case as I find people that have been diagnosed with Psychosis or Sociopathy, I should have written ‘but’ instead of ‘or’ to distinguish the lines more.

I find sometimes they have a similar look in the eye just nowhere else like their genetic makeup can be completely different. But I don’t really know how to explain it. It’s like if you look deep enough within their eyes you can read the distorted body language and almost danger. It’s strange I know, hence why I wondered if this occurred in other people that are possible murderers, rapists, paedophiles- typically the darker criminals, I wondered if they all had that off-putting trait in their eyes

  • I have been told by a professional that i am a very highly functional non violent sociopath. As opposed to a psychopath, I do not have violent tendencies at all. I completely agree with the diagnosis. The level at which I can detach/feel nothing shocks me sometimes. I have never encountered a situation where I have ever been picked up as one by someone else, so I cannot answer the question honestly. To my knowledge I do not have it in my eyes or give off a vibe. I can very honestly say that it is possible that some women have gotten a vibe from me, but it is also a very real truth that I am an extremely plain to moderately unattractive person, I am a bit awkward especially around women, and I am not at all a male that women are interested in me unless they themselves have far more/worse issues than I have. No, this is not a long response to set up a punchline, it simply it what it is.
