Fellow parents, I need advice. During one of the many sex talks with our daughter (she’s 16 and in a committed relationship of 5 months), we told her it is okay for her to have sex in our house- in her bedroom and bed only. We promised her there would be no punishment or humiliation. She agreed to do it when we were at work or out for a night on the town. We told her she would have all necessary items needed (condoms, KY gel, spermicide, etc.).
Most teens will have sex and we do not want our daughter to feel she needs to sneak around to have it- like in cars, lovers lanes, etc. If she wants to have it, we want to make sure she is safe and comfortable in her own home when she does it. Lovers lanes are just so unsafe today. We want her to feel like sex is natural and should be done at home. Now, an improtant part of this agreement is no one night stands- she absolutely needs to be in a committed relationship.
Other parents, what do you think of our sexual policy? I think it is a good one becaue of safety.

  • Wish my parents were like that! I really like that, it shows that your leaving it up to your almost adult child to make these real life decisions, and that needs maturity to make the right ones.

  • Yeah it’s probably a good idea.

My aunt was strictly “no sex until marriage” and refused to buy her daughter birth control even when her daughter was begging her for it

Her daughter was just about to turn 15 when she got pregnant

  • I think that’s a bit much “in the comfort of her bed!!!” One thing is to offer her to get birth control but to then clean the sheets your daughter gets fucked is disgusting.

    • She does all her laundry anyway…and she makes love to her boyfriend not “”gets fucked”.
