The marble fig leaf for the statue of David was carved in the early 1500’s, soon after the statue was completed.

The marble fig leaf was placed over the c*** and balls of David and was not removed until 1912.

For the moment you can see David with his c*** and balls on display. Some people want the fig leaf put back to cover the area.
