I wonder how many people are getting fatter as we speak, who gained weight this weekend, whose bodies are slowly inflating with fat, their skin stretching, on their way to being enormous one day. I wonder how many buttons won’t close, how many dresses won’t fit, how many spouses will notice the new fat as the person is getting dressed and won’t say anything, how many whispers at work. I wonder how many people will take a selfie today and take another one 2 years from now and say “Wow, my face was thin!”
