My husband has forgotten how to express his love for me, and I’m feeling quite guilty about enjoying attention from another man.
The handyman that works at our apartment complex has had to stop by several times this week. He seems like a really sweet and sensitive person, and is a bit timid around me. I can’t tell if it is because he likes me or is just shy around everyone. Either way, I soak up the attention he gives me like a thirsty b****. He speaks so kindly to me and is very interested in my personal life. One day he invited me to step outside with him to talk, and got really embarassed when I declined. I don’t want to misinterpet his actions toward me. For now, I’m just enjoying the fact that he respects me.
I kinda miss being important to someone, you know? Enough to matter and to have an impact on someone. Even if it’s artificial or miniscule. I don’t really see very many people anymore, and there is nothing I can do to gain my husband’s attention or consideration. We’ve discussed it and fought about it plenty of times. He takes me for granted. He’s so selfish and lazy. It’s so sad because my husband used to be so sweet on me and so eager to impress me and please me. I’m still like that toward him, but he doesn’t really notice anymore.
I sometimes wish I could break it off and try again with someone new. Maybe not get married next time. I’m still very young and I don’t want to waste time in a dead relationship when I feel like I’m in my prime. The guilt from all this is really dragging me down…
