My friend came to stay with me for a while and we’ve known each other for a really long time and I do like her. But she’s also a very boring person and it’s zapping my energy having her around. I would go as far as to say she’s kind of a depressing presence. I asked her how long she’s staying and she replied cheerfully “until you kick me out”. I don’t think that’s very polite to do to a host but she probably thinks she’s being flexible. We have other friends that she can stay with but she’s planned to be here for another four weeks – – that’s a really long time. I don’t want to damage our friendship but I cannot live with her staying with me for another four weeks and I have no doubt she’ll just stay if I don’t say anything.
