I was at a meeting at my son’s school tonight. The meeting was for parents and students in his grade, about some end-of-the-year stuff. There were 50 parent/kid combos.

The school is a “magnet” school, which means it pulls in the brightest kids from all over the city, based on race. In other words, the students are a very diverse lot.

At tonight’s meeting, everyone was very quiet and respectful, except for the black families. This meeting went on twice as long as it should have because they literally talked the entire time. Not just the students, but the parents. No wonder their children are so rude – it’s modeled for them by their parents.
