I accidentally stepped on a baby chicken when I was like 9 or so. I saw its guts spill out of its body and saw its life drain from its body. It was squealing for what felt like a minute, it was probably shorter than that though. I remember thinking we could get it to an animal hospital but that was just me denying the truth that was right in front of me. I can still remember it so vividly. My parents said it was sick but it probably wasn’t, they were probably saying that to make me feel better.
