I’m 17 and in theatre and I recently got a lead that I’ve been wanting for YEARS and Im really really happy about it. Specifically this one song which is a full solo and I really feel like it shows off my acting abilities. However we went to rehearsal and we had this lady who was new to theatre block this song, and she decided to put the ensemble in it and I tried to think it was cool but it looks so f****** stupid. It is not a dance song at all it’s a sad song and idk why she thought that was a good idea. I know this is overdramatic but i genuinely am so upset because I’ve been looking forward to performing that song since I was a kid but now it’s like it’s not even my song anymore cause nobody’s gonna be watching me they’re gonna be watching the stupid dance. I’m pretending like I think it’s cool cause I dont want to seem entitled but it’s literally so bad I don’t want my friends who know the show to come since it’s so embarrassing. I dont think the rest of the cast likes it either but it’s not our say so it s****. Needed to get this off my chest
