Yeah he was alright. I think he’s Canadian. Not that I’m a big REM fan but Dan is the inspiration of their song What’s The Frequency Kenneth. I forget the story he was attached by a guy who believed he was having some kind of mind control projected on him, I don’t know how Dam came into it but this guy attacked Dan while yelling “What’s The Frequency Kenneth?

I remember Dan during the Shape Shuttle Challenger Disaster. I watched him for 6 hours. Probably a repeat EST. It was a repeat, no doubt. I SAW the entire or most of it, starting early on broadcast. The launch pad, smoke still lingering, him questioning the parachutes, later saying he had word saying they were “military personnel, parachuting into the debris field (no they weren’t, they were the rocket booster nose cone shutes…), I saw all that after a school which was 2 or 3:00 EST.

He was enthusiastic about that broadcast. It’s was like he hadn’t seen any action in over a decade.
