One time in my neighborhood i saw a dog that was behind a gate by this persons house, (not their backyard gate, like their front of the house gate) and nobody was really in the cul-de-sac, so i took the dog and told my dad that i found it in the street and i kept it for a couple days until we saw flyers hanged up on all the mailboxes and we called the number saying that i had found the dog and the owner, who is a she, came to our door. i gave her the dog and she thanked me and gave me $20. i told her i found her dog loose walking in the middle of the street, but no cars were there, so i got it before a car would pass by. i felt guilty ever since and i’ve never told anybody but now, but remember, i was 11 when i did this. I was young and stupid and thought the dog was cute but i knew i couldn’t keep it for long so i had to call the number on the flyer and give the dog back. I had found out later that the dog had actually RUN AWAY from the house, ( i didn’t take it. the gate was actually open and it ran away) and i felt bad even though i had nothing to do with that, but still, what i had done was unforgivable and i hate myself for that. i’m 14 now, and i still think about it to this very day. 🙁
