I was in Denver for the first time in my life, and texted a friend to say hello. I haven’t seen her in close to 40 years, and only meant to send a text, but she surprised me when she texted that she wanted to see me. I lied and said I didn’t have time, when I did have time, despite only being there for the weekend. My lame reason for not wanting to see her was because I gained so much weight since I last saw her. I was feeling fat. I don’t think I’ll ever visit Denver again, and hence wasted an opportunity to reconnect in person with this friend.
