Had the one on one talk with step MIL primary in home caretaker. She opened with saying she knew that step MIL and I were lovers. Step MIL confided in her. She immediately said that it was not her place to call us out and that she was not going to narc us. She said she asked step MIL why she seemed so much more upbeat and happy and that MIL only told her after being confident that the caretaker would not bust us. At that point I asked caretaker why she was talking to me about it the . She said multiple reasons, that we had to ackowledge the possible consequences, and had I put any thought into the harm to both MIL and wife. We talked about that I had for a while. But she said that her reasons for talking to me one on one rather than with MIL were that she was fond of my MIL, wanted to make sure I was not bullying or taking advantage of MIL, and that I would not hurt her physically or emotionally. Asked if it was just s**/kick for me. I assured her it was not but she was not ready to let me off that easily. Asked me how I knew/why it was not just s** or a temp kick. I asked her how much she knew and she said that MIL had been very frank, so I took a deep breath and opened up.
