i was making banana bread and i was putting the bananas in the mixer while i was unpeeling them. they were ripe, so they kinda broke off sometimes, which resulted in me just continuing to peel them after i was done with the other part of the banana that had broken off. as i begin to peel the rest of this one bit, i notice that it’s just not peeling, but rather as though it’s stuck. i look, and initially i think that it’s still the peel. I pull, and the peel breaks off; this is not just the peel. the actual part that isn’t peeling is the banana, and it’s black. my heart sinks, i had already put the other part of this banana in the wet ingredients.
i had already used so much brown sugar to actually create the wet ingredients, so for me to just ruin it felt so unfathomable; i had to just continue making it.
i mix in the dry ingredients and put it to bake. it just came out, and ngl the smell it created as it was cooking did not really smell like it was fresh so now i’m thinking that it was actually rotten but i literally cannot find any sources on rotten bananas because people think rotten bananas are just browning bananas and not actual rotten bananas but now i feel too attached to throw it away </3 i think i will tho
