A long time ago in the spring of 2007, I went on a walk with my family and a few kids from the neighborhood one evening. I made a mistake that I regret. I was 16 almost 17.
There was a birds nest in the wood trusses of an outdoor shack/ shelter along the walking trail. I climbed up to take a closer look and I knocked the nest to the ground killing the unhatched/ unborn chicks still in their eggs. It wasn’t my intention. I didn’t mean for that to happen. I should have left well enough alone.
The last thing I remember seeing before leaving was the mother bird perched up on the rafter looking down at the broken eggs and nest looking sad. I should have known better. I am sorry, forgive me.
